  • More than one v-8 driver got his head handed to him by a Chrysler turbo car in the 80s. Chrysler was crazy to ever stop building these cars.

  • because v8s are lighter and more fuel efficient... wait...

  • @Greenpublican You're proud that a lowly economy car with a 4 banger can be beat by a V8? And by only 1.5 seconds in the quarter? A $20.00 grainger valve and it's all over.

  • I've pulled the turbo off a Charger w/o removing the head, several times. It's really not that hard, takes about an hour by myself, on stands. I drive an 87 Shelby Z every day too :) Definitely fun to play with, playing around with the tune right now. Hopefully will get some work done on the GLHS this year too :D

  • 1986 GLH Turbo Add 13 PSI Mopar computer $145. 14.8 1/4 mile @ 93mph, everthing else factory stock. 1989 Daytona Shelby Add 14 PSI Mopar computer $160, 15.0 1/4 mile @92mph everthing else factory stock. Quick cars in the 80s, Camaro/Firebird, 15.0-15.7 1/4, Mustang LX 5.0, 14.8-15.3. 1/4, Corvette 14.4-15.1 1/4, Buick GN 14.3-14.9 1/4. These Dodge Turbo cars will go right into the mid to low 13s with traction. Facts.

  • @EatableCWEED They can but they arent even close to efficient at 30PSI. Not to mention being ran on a SOHC its not worth it.

  • @cliffjumper1984 And a lot less room to work around lol. You can actually get the turbo off a daytona without pulling the head, do that in an omni or charger lol. Not like its hard to pull the head on those anyway though.

  • Damn nice car...

I've got an '88 Shadow ES and it weighs 1108kgs or about 2500lbs.

Personally i like the look of the 87/88 Shadows, just not the newer 89+. The front end i certainly have to admit is ugly... :s

  • i have a 1991 dodge daytona bored .30 over heads r milled down .40 and its ported n poshiled

  • They sound AMAZING and have all this power without a turbo but both cars are fun in their own ways to me.

  • i have a 90 shelby daytona and i can pick on mustang's all day. it's close but if keep the rpm's down on take off i can get them. i dont going to bs.a rolling start help's. but i think my turbo going out. if it does im going to look in to the super 60. and punch the block 20 over and mill the head down. mabe bigger est.i kno the super 60 around $1500 at my dodge shop
