  • Hi, I need some help, I am getting an iPhone 4s and I want to use the camcorder on it to record covers(guitar and singing), now I am going to get a condenser mic as well as a mixer so can I plug the condenser mic into the mixer, aswell as my guitar and then plug it into my iphone will it record the sound? What cables would I need? Thanks

  • Can you record from the ipod or ipohne if you play something connected to the mixer??

Couse i want to use ipod for live band recordings.

    Is it possible??

  • Thanks for the video. For better sound quality you can bypass the 3.5mm headphone jack. The Camera Connector Kit allows digital audio straight out of the iphone/ipad, bypassing its DAC for a better quality convertor one may already own.

  • While you could, in a pinch, sum the left and right signals to a single channel as shown @ 2:20, you will get better results if you use a device that actively sums two channels to one like a mixer of course. You could do that on this mixer by using two of the mono input channels using the first cable indicated, and panning both to left or right depending on which output you were using for your mono channel. Some mixers have a mono output in which case panning wouldn't be needed.

  • @PRIMEproductionsSF That cable is usually sold as a 1/8" (or 3.5mm) to 1/4" FX SEND/RETURN cable. HOSA calls theirs a "Specialty Y Cable, 3.5 mm TRS to Dual 1/4 in TS."

  • @Crosshair0Production Because what you're doing is this... from the ground/left/right signals on the output, the cable splits the ground and makes two conductors, one for each 1/4" plug, and left channel to one of them and right channel to the other. If I saw TRS conductors on both of the 1/4" plugs I would assume it was a stereo splitter where both were carrying both left and right signals, or if being used in a balanced audio rig, both carried the same balanced mono signal.

  • Ok so let's say I want to add my iPhone for I don't know maby clapping do I would just plug it in then it will get mixed into my tape

  • whats that cable called at 0:43?

  • The 1/4 cable you're using are not TRS. TRS stands for tip, ring, sleeve, a different cable with three segments.

The ones you're using are just mono male 1/4".
