In 1959 the Cadillac division of General Motors was locked in a head to head battle with the Lincoln division of Ford in an attempt to show the world who could build the most luxurious automobile on the market. The result of this was a partnership with Pininfarina of Italy to build 99 units of the top of the line Cadillac El Dorado Brougham. With features and functionality unheard of in automobiles of the day this car was a revolution when it was introduced. This first video showcases the restoration of the car and begins with separating the chassis from the body so the work may progress in parallel on both areas of the El Dorado.

@boomhood they shared the same chassie as a normal 59-60 cadillac, the 57-58 where not Itailan made as the 59-60. 57-58 had the same chassie as the other cadillac of these year. They totaly different in styling such as suicide rear doors on the 57-58.

do your research bro, the made "brougham models" from 57 to 60, 57-58 had stainless steel roofs. these models are even rarier then those because they "looked" cosmetically like another cadillac and people werent so keen to keep em. the 57-58 were shorter "city" versions. while these shared same wheel base, but i "think" had commercial chassises.
