why did the close down shea and yankee stadium those two stadiums were in good condition

i went to the game just this past friday with johan pitching i was able to steal a piece of shea on the way out because some of the pile is still there

trust me, Citi Field is nothing special. There is nothing Mets in the place except for the Apple, the NY Skyline in the back, and that montage on the Left Field Gate. THATS IT.

great montage put together with the music. Though living in AZ now I am going to miss Shea. I remember going to opening day in the 1983 season when Terrific Tom came home.

Thank you for posting the slide show. I, too, was fortunate to attend the last two games at Shea! While Shea deserved better on that fateful last day, Johan gave the stadium memories the day before. I was one of the 50,000+ fans chanting "Johan! Johan! Johan!" It was surreal! Thanks! Good-bye old friend!

Also, I wish I could've gone to Shea more than once in my life. It's hard being 3,000 miles away but I remember loving Shea when I went at age 8 (I'm currently 18)
Would've been nice to go and understand the history this time... (Beatles, Pope, First Base-enough said, the retired numbers, the images of the past in the stadium, etc.
I'm saving up money to go down to NY with my dad next year to at least be at Citi Field in its 1st year. I'm looking forward to its opening.
