Laird Hamilton & Gabrielle Reece on World Ocean Day June 8th, 2011 explain the simple solution to plastic pollution in the Ocean which is to REFUSE disposable plastics everyday. Happy World Ocean Day!
Every day we can celebrate world ocean day by taking simple steps to prevent pollution and protect our waters! Thanks for sharing this video and educating the public on this issue!
sea turtles eat plastic all the time, by accident, because there is so much of it in the oceans! It's gross and can actually kill young sea turtles when it blocks their gut.
Milo Cress, a rising fifth grader from Burlington, Vermont was inspired to action:)
"When the 9-year-old learned that 500 million plastic straws were distributed for use each day (that's enough to fill over 46,400 40 foot-long school buses each year!), he decided that this issue was too big to ignore."

I completely agree...must phase out plastic as much as possible...We survived in a non-disposable world at one time...it can be done.I think they should make computer cases out of cardboard...returnable glass bottles....
