JACK IN A BOX Episode 2: THE ALPHA ACTOR

After a long morning of selling tickets, JACK (Michael Cyril Creighton) sneaks out of his box for his daily cigarette and cupcake break, only to run into an acquaintance from his past: Simon, AKA THE ALPHA ACTOR (played by PATRICK HEUSINGER of Broadway's Spamalot, Next Fall)

Simon is everything Jack is not...conventionally handsome, full of maniacal exuberance and joy for the "art of acting"-and most importantly-very very successful.

Watch Jack try to navigate this awkward meeting...but first, let him lick the icing off his lips.

(Make sure to watch a special POST CREDIT surprise at the end)

Written by and starring MICHAEL CYRIL CREIGHTON as JACK
Special Guest Star: PATRICK HEUSINGER as SIMON
Directed and Edited by MARCIE HUME
Music: Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

(also featuring... OLIVINE THE CAT)

ABOUT "JACK IN A BOX"

"clever, funny-sad-funny"- David Cote, Time Out NY Blog

He used to love theatre...until he sold tickets for it...

Jack In A Box is an original web sitcom from actor/writer Michael Cyril Creighton. Jack was a mild-mannered young man with a BFA in acting and no life skills. He took a job at a theater box office because it didn't involve heavy lifting, wearing a blazer or using Excel. A few years and thousands of customers later, Jack finds himself less mild-mannered and less young than ever before. Watch Jack try to manage his anger while navigating an insular universe where everyone is even more unstable than he is. Like all caged animals, he is going to throw his sh*t at you sooner or later... but first he's going to eat a cupcake and take a phone call from his mom. Service with a smirk, that's all you can ask for.

Special Thanks: Erika, Shawn, Keith & Harrison @ TR, Alexis Dite, Brian Mullan, Hannah Bos, Denise Creighton, Patrick Heusinger and you. Have a great day and thank you.

  • I know it's a very satirical portrayal, but this basically captures all of the reasons why I have grown to HATE hanging out with the actors (and other artists) who perform at my theatre. Well done.

  • Being an Audience Services Mgr...I luv this series. The only thing that would have made this Ep. even truer to life would be if Jack was going to the bathroom, smoking and eating at the same time. Once you put that sign up on the window it is a made rush to do all those things!!!!!!

  • The Billy Elliot ad drives by in the background at the PERFECT moment!!!
