  • I entered boot camp in San Diego on October 28, 1965, the same day OGDEN entered port San Diego for the first time. A little over 25 years later, I was serving as her Executive Officer. A fine ship, with an admirable record...

  • Hope you enjoyed the video Sir . Thank You for Your Service ! GO NAVY !!!

  • I was aboard the Odgen from 1967-1970 and made 3 cruises to vietnam.

I was at the 2010 reunion in Washinton D.C. My name is Bill owens.

Anyomne have any pictures of the bars in olongaplo City during that time?

I miss the Ogden and all my shipmates.

  • one of my earliest and fondest memories of the Dog ...was down in #2 fire room watching the water run back in the bilge ... what a strange thing to remember .

  • I did two WestPac deployments on her, 88' and 90' during Desert Shield/Storm as a Marine. She seemed old in 1990, I can't even imagine her in 2007. Always did her job though and brought us home safe. Made a lot of good friends along the way. I remember alot of good port calls.....fair winds and following seas.

  • @ozgood948 OZGOOD948 MY BROTHER JOHN STANTON WAS STATIONED ON THE OGDEN AND WAS A PLANK OWNER. THE FAMILY WENT TO BROOKLYN NAVY YARD FOR THE COMMISSIONING IN 1965. JOHN WAS A MEDICAL HOSPITOLMAN

  • Thanks for putting together the decom video. My tour ran from 1972-75, and (among other things) involved final minesweeping of Haiphong Harbor. I'm certainly glad I don't have to relive those years, but I wouldn't exchange those experiences for anything! Bravo Zulu
