HD Video of the entire parade at the beginning of the route on Montgomery across from the Transamerica Pyramid.
We made the lucky decision to drive into San Francisco from South Bay instead of taking the Bart or Cal Train. We arrived Chinatown parking lot in traffic lighter than a normal weekday at 9:30am. Plenty of parking also. It was just 1 short block to the start of the parade at Montgomery and Washington. We heard that Bart was so packed that they have to turn people away. We had a leisurely breakfast in Chinatown and still made it to the starting point of the parade and found a good spot 3rd person from the fence. So, I managed to get decent footages of the parade. Just had to hold my camera higher than everyone else's. If it weren't for the guy in front of me holding up his flag, I would have a completely clear shot of the parade.
The parade was moving pretty fast at this starting point. I think it slowed down considerably when it hit Market Street. We pick Montgomery Street for the ticker tape experience, but here was not much confetti coming down at this location. I did see one window open in the Transamerica Pyrimid, so the windows must be operable. Were there no sports fans in the building?
