Life flight rescue in Farmington canyon, Utah. Both people in the truck survive! 16 year old kid with his girlfriend drives off the edge of on top of Farmington, near Francis peak.
@btgirten123 yes life flight usually staffs an EMT-Paramedic, a Nurse and a physician i live in illinois and that is what we run with. I know here in illinois for nurses you have to have 3-5 years experiance in the ER or Trauma ....but like i said that is in illinois....but im sure wherever you live im sure your life flight staffs a Flight Nurse as a paramedic only probably wouldnt be able to do certain things a Nurse would be able to do hope that helps :) and best of luck to you
@btgirten123 Acutally I do know those answers. If by onboard nurses you mean nurses who strictly fly with the pilots and are on call and hang out in the pilots quarters until a call comes in, the answer is yes. It is a full times job. I am not sure on their days on/days off schedule but I do know that in Utah the shifts are 12 hours. So for years my dad would do 6 days on and 6 days off. 3 nights and three days during that time. It depends where you work though.
@ildivofan1 Hey im a nursing student trying to find the right type of nursing and I read your post that your dad is a life flight pilot and I was wondering if either you or him knew if life flights generally have onboard nurses and if so is it a full time job or part time job?
