Nathaniel, from Team Xhaust, earned his second degree black belt. Josh and Chris filmed it for six hours, and this is the outcome. This is just a brief video, but the real thing was intense. Chris's dad also tested and earned his first degree black belt. More videos will be posted soon. Enjoy!!

  • How old is this dude?

  • He is 16

  • beaaaaast. which martial art is this?...karate?

soz but, cruddy warm up..was more of a fitness routine.....and unfortunately it showed when doing your 1-steps?..kihons?...semi-kihons...or whatver you call them depending on martial art. you didnt put speed or power into the moves and snap them nicely...but fair as you were tiiiired.

though, your kata and knife defence were very clean and sharp :)

    gratz on 2nd dan/ degree.

  • Its a form of karate called kempo. The warm up is usually like that, and it was an hour long in the beginning which made Nathaniel tired as crap because he was pushed more than anyone else as you can see in 1:18. and what are kihons?

  • ahhhhh ok kempo!...i thought it might have been! dw about kihons, i might have spelt it wrong...tis japanese...much like how kata is japanese for form, kihon is japanese for basics......the sorta thing they would have sent him up and down the hall doing haha.

    peace.

  • Oooohhhh. Those were lunges

  • i wish my class was as intense as this ive always dreamed to go to a class where i'm not the only only jr black belt....and so much older than everyone.

  • I getting my black belt when im 16 :o

  • I understand that he went through a grueling workout, but he really needs to make the strikes more convincing - there was barely any force in his follow-ups. The defense techniques were executed fairly well. My major qualm is with the kata at the end - especially since it's Enpi, this one is lacking a lot in extension of both stances and techniques. A kata is the one time you can demonstrate perfect form, so it is strange to see one performed lethargically and while standing up.

  • Oh my gosh! I had my black belt test the same day he did!

  • Intense warm up. The one steps looked alright. Needs more snap and power though. The forms need way more work on the stances

  • This guy is very good for his age, can be proud...and work some more ;)
