On Thursday, August 20th, we took a group of blinded and disabled veterans on a whitewater kayak and raft trip down the Deschutes River in Oregon. Dubbed Operation Peer Support, the goal was to encourage physical and emotional healing through a whitewater adventure. Two of the tandem kayaks were co-piloted by blinded veterans of the Iraq War.
The day was organized by the Blinded Veterans Association, Team River Runner and Northwest River Guides. Video by Andy Maser and Barney Bonito.
Tandem kayaks provided by Portland's local Next Adventure outdoor shop.
Fantastic - you are doing great things. Acts of service by giving back to those who gave for us are truly inspiring.

A very inspiring way to give back to those who have given so much. Thanks for making it.
