Summer on the Front Range of Colorado - hummingbirds are all over the backyard hitting on the hummingbird feeders.
We live on the fly-zone and we have many varieties - the Rufous are also claiming their territory.
We were filling and hanging one of these per day. In 2010 we will have two up and see what happens.
The Ruby-throated hummingbird are arriving earlier and earlier and leaving later.
By mid-summer, I can stand right by the feeder and they come.
I have hundreds of pictures of them - trying to freeze their wings - shoot at high enough shutter speed to stop the action.
And their hum, listen carefully to the video and you will hear it.
