@pingu: Agree entirely. Aside from the pulsations he is so great at achieving, and textures, there is real groove to many of his pieces.. so it is structured noise, and not truly random as some of his detractors say. He is a drummer too, so maybe that's where the rhythmic part is coming from.

Whenever I hear Merzbow, I think of two things;

1. How does a single man manage to create a kind of beauty that can only be heard by some, not necessarily people with an acquired taste. His music is like a dog whistle, some hear it in it's true form and some simply dismiss it.

2. A Codeine/Merzbow combo is not to be messed with...
