Jim Lehrer's name is synonymous with television journalism. With his partner of over 20 years, Robert MacNeil, he helped redefine the evening newscast and brought the in-depth discussion of current affairs the American audience hungered for. A former Marine, he has been called the "Dean of Moderators" for having conducted almost a dozen presidential debates. He has received an Emmy Award, a National Humanities medal, and in 1999 he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. But beneath it all beats the heart of a young boy who loves telling stories, and he has published over 2 dozen novels, plays and memoirs.
