A documentary I helped produce, film and edit with two other members, Ben Kniola and Blair Battenberg, in my Video II course at college. Its is essentially about minimalism and what can be gained from living with less. The music was all original made by Philip Riley, his youtube page is found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePhilipriley

  • I'm going to try this, this summer. sounds like an enlightening idea. However I feel you should have ditched the meal/electronic card to begin with. good job though. props

  • @subarustiguy agreed, thanks for watching!

  • This is going to sound trite but I think Minimalism is a part of our youth. When one ages we go through the "down sizing" age, and that is when we realize what we truly need and not what we want.

  • @55Kathie fair point! thank for watching

  • Felt you had a good idea, but you missed the point of it all. Minimalism is not about extremes, nor is it about living life like a homeless person.

  • @shaunboy07 Ya, we were worried about that from the start. It was difficult to get a filmworthy experience without being somewhat extreme. Unfortunately that extreme came off as homelessness. Appreciate the critique though!

  • I suppose the real question is, has there been any change in the long run?

  • @shaunboy07 I see what you are saying but what was pointed out in the video was that wherever Ben went, that is also where his home was. People today define home as having a house and a bed to sleep in. Yes, living outside or other places seems a bit extreme however some people need that idea of minimalism to be stretched in order for a point to be made.

So I'm not sure if the point was missed by the filmmakers here but missed by the viewer..
