  • @thewebmaster93 If you haven't found the answer to this yet, you can be near or far-sighted as long as you can correct back to 20/20. At least this is my understanding. You can google US astronaut vision requirements.

  • LELAND MELVIN! FUCK YEA!

They're orange because that makes them highly visible. In case of a bailout, NASA wants to make sure that they can find the astronauts.

  • how come the german guy has eyeglasses? can you be nearsighted?

  • That's ironic. I have a UPS shirt that's in blaze orange.

  • I love you guys. awesome stuff.

  • The Launch/Entry suits are supplied by the Dave Clark Company. These are pressure suits whose primary purpose is to protect the crew in case there a loss of cabin pressure at liftoff.

  • why are they orange?

can't they just be any colour?

but then it's NASA thee worlds mosty fameous organisation for using rockets in the name of science so there has to be a reason

  • its for withstanding the G's during liftoff and reentry

  • for better identification in case of emergency case and recovery AFAIK.
