My own opinion of Kanawa is that she doesn't sing at all... she speaks. That is why her voice is so truthful, smooth and simple sounding. It's gorgeous... brava.

A very "selfless" rendering by O'Neill with the most beautiful ending,,instead of the usual "screeching" and unmusical finish with both singers on high C. Anyway,,each to his own taste. Ti Kanawa still exhibits the lovely bell-like quality.

Aragall....funny i could not think of two different voice

Might as well admit it: I've had a crush on KTK since I first saw her in the film of "La nozze di Figaro (with Prey, Fischer-Dieskau, Freni and Ewing) 33 years ago:). O'Neill had a wonderfully exciting Italianate voice in his prime --

his voice remindes me of Aragall at times...well done by him and fabulous by Kiri...

I've listened to Jussi B sing it both ways at the end. I prefer this ending, as Puccini wrote it. DON has a good "C" so he was just being musical here. One feels like we are listening to 2 young lovers walk away.

I would like to see Plácido Domingo there, they are the heavenly pair in classical music...but Dennis is good.
