I was because the actress, KariWuhrer had issues with Gh. She got pregnant and the writters didnt want that for her storyline, so they fired her and then she sued them.

Yeah it did have an effect on the end result.

I misss her tons too.

I think Maurice should have been more dramatic then that too.

Poor Reese! Why did they write her off. I miss her character so much. I wish that Sonny

would have been more dramatic about her death. It was like no one even cared!

@amberjade11 Truthfully, I wasn't a Reese and Sonny fan either BUT (and I say this as a crazy Rexis shipper lol) she and Ric were FIRE HOT. Reese got the same treatment Hannah, Angel, Kate and Claudia got...and its one the reasons that I HATED Guza as GH's head writer. He'd throw Sonny into relationships with newbies but never develop them outside of the pairing. Once the relationship was over, he'd write her out. IDK if it was sexism or lack of creativity, but it was definitely a pattern.

@merryjayne28 They said they wrote her off because of the lack of chemistry between her and Maurice. I have to agree with them, they did not have good chemistry, but then again when Tamara Braun came along no one and Maurice had as good of chemistry as they did. The only ones who can compare is Maurice & Vanessa. That's why the Sonny/Carly/Brenda triangle was so awesome. Not as good as Sonny/Brenda/Jax though.

@lynbria They fired Kari Wuhrer (the actress who played Reese) and she responded by filing a lawsuit. It was her belief that she was fired because she got pregnant and the show did not wish to work around that. She was really public about her feelings about her firing and why she felt she was fired and there was a lot of press about it and I think it just kind of bled over to the way they treated the character, not just in the death scene but in the way they did the funeral as well.

That's was pretty irresponsible of GH to go that route especially with all the publicity that happened with Aaron Spelling and Hunter Tylo when she got pregnant and was let go because of it.

It's so weird that a Reese's death was so tame and emotionaless almost. She was a great character. And Sonny sure didn't react much when she was declared dead.
