After a Banana Boat ride run by Adrenaline Fiji flipped while going at speed, I was hit on the left hand side of my head before the guy fell directly on top of my head, by a rather large man.
I immediantly lost concousness & vomited in the water.
Adrenaline Fiji then helped me back on the tow boat to finish the 20 minutes left of the ride. This left me being thrown around in the back of the boat at very high speeds.
I was given help when we did land as I couldn't walk as everything was swaying.
I was seen by a Doctor from Dr Zen's Clinic in Nadi and told to go to the Clinic/hospital to be observed as I had severe concussion in the least.
I paid $150 to lay on a bed with no sheet. A mattress so thin with no pillow for 4 hours. There were NO Doctor's or Nurse's in the Clinic. What a waste of money!
I donated $100 to this Clinic not realising it was privately run. But I still had to pay my bill. Rip offs.
I had to go back to this clinic the next night for another $250 for ONE Voltarin tablet as I had been given nothing for pain.
They sent me by ambulance to Latoka hospital and hour away costing another $380. Who wanted me to be admitted along with my son.
The Latoka hospital was hot, smelly and filthy. No way was I staying.
The next day we moved to a different part of the Island. The Sigatoka hopsital was excellent in dealing with my pain and great distress.
We were sent home a few days later to find I had severe whiplash and had broken my neurostimulator leads. These are now fixed.

Yes I had insurance.

  • @v8americanpower1 Finally fully recovered.I had to be airlifted out of Fiji as their medical care is 3rd World. But the Country is beautiful.Fijian's have the biggest hearts & are so nice.

I came home and had to have emergency spinal surgery & I lost my job becuase I had only just started there when I went away & then had to tell them I needed 3 months off to recover.

I had travel insurance I recommend EVERYONE get's it when going overseas. When they pay out we are going back. But NO banana boats
