asshole motorist: wrong way in bus lane, runs a red light

this impatient jerk decided they just *needed* to take a left turn into critical mass instead of just following and then passing when it was safe (and legal) to do so. they were apparently in a rush to blow the light at craft. too bad the motorcycle cop wasn't still at the intersection from rush hour.

It looks like the assholes are the ones intentionally blocking traffic in both lanes. Why did you feel the need to impede traffic like that? There was plenty of room for all of you in the right lane. Do you know where the person was going? Hospital emergency? Family emergency? job interview?

The only reason semis would be "plowing" through you is if you don't yield to them." the ONLY reason? here in the city, we don't have many semi's but the ones that do have a number on the back that anybody can call if they "plow" through anything to report dangerous driving. semi drivers are much better drivers than idiots in cars anyway. i usually just call the cops when some car operator starts threatening my life and give them the plate#. did you know that cops bike?

@mkraeftig no shit: smaller vehicles must use caution. here's a novel idea: operators of heavier and more dangerous vehicles are RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. this is why you aren't allowed to drive a semi without a special license. bikes do not require a license, and are even ridden by children - seems like cars should watch out for them, seeing as cars have seatbelts, crumple zones, and airbags whereas bicycles do not.

@mkraeftig kind of hard for 100 cyclists to "yield" to a car that is just going to get tangled up in with a bunch of bikes. you should try riding with a large group sometime. the hierarchy you speak of is backwards: the larger the vehicle, the more responsible and cautious the operator should be. i know i wouldn't want to be on highways where i'm expected to let semi's plow through me just because i'm in a smaller vehicle. perhaps this is why semi operators require special license?
