Discovery Bay Striped Bass Fishing Day 1

A bunch of us spent the weekend at Discovery Bay, California for some striped bass fishing. We used live bluegill as bait, which is perfectly legal as long as it is caught there and not transported in or out of the Delta. Check the regulations if you plan to do this elsewhere because it is illegal in most waters. The fishing was slow but we were able to land a few. Heres the first of two videos. Oct 17, 2009.

@AzianPurzwation Unfortunately, not where we were fishing.  You need to know someone that lives there and fish off their dock.

@socalbassboy Yes, but for some strange reason, it is perfectly legal in the California Delta. Go a few miles away and try it in a lake, and it's illegal. This was confirmed by the DFG. You have to catch it there and use it there. No transporting in or out.

@hataketori The guys all used different setups.  I had a sliding sinker, 1 ft dropper and 4-5 ft leader, hooking through the lips.
