@uncatila its not deliberate but with the Catholic priesthood a priest ought to be youthful be he 29 or 99 ! however with an aging priest population you have to recruit young men in particular because they'll be the priests in their middle ages. You're right that God does not only call young people but everyone to all services should they listen to his voice .

I do not believe that God only calls younger people or people of means. This seems to be the message here.

Is the lord calling someone to be a priest? No, someone has to actually exist to be able to do that.
