Brewster Academy vs Rise Academy 2010-2011

Brewster improved to 10-0 on the young season with a convincing victory over Rise Academy (PA) 114-54. Brewster was led by Mitch McGary (Chesterton, IN) with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Unsigned postgraduate guard Elijah Carter (Paterson, NJ) added 20 points and 7 rebounds, while sophomore Deonte Burton (Milwaukee, WI) contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds. Pitt-bound Durand Johnson (Baltimore, MD) had 13 points, Villanova-signee Markus Kennedy (Yeadon, PA) chipped in with 12 points, and St. John's bound JaKarr Sampson (Barberton, OH) and future Kansas Jayhawk Naadir Tharpe (Worcester, MA) each contributed 10 points. Tharpe had a team-high 10 assists.

Brewster will host the Brewster Invitational tournament on Friday and Saturday with the host Bobcats playing MCI at 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening. In the nightcap, Notre Dame Prep (MA) will challenge Lakes Region League member Tilton School (NH). The event concludes on Saturday with the consolation game at 2:00 p.m. and championship at 3:30 p.m.
