  • quick question did vikings ever wear vambraces, greaves, or chainmail?

  • @kombatwinz the quick answer would be yes, yes, and yes. Evidently you didn't notice I am wearing all three in this video... Maille was not a common item for most Vikings. Only the wealthy and capable could afford it, or get their hands on it. As for the splint greaves and vambraces I'm wearing, they are even less common and difficult to document for Vikings in their homelands. However, trade routes during that time meant they could have been found and used by Vikings.

  • NICE! wow! really cool, i've been watching some other larp videos of you guys, so your theme is mainly viking"ish"?

  • @raphael103 for the love of Odin, we are NOT a larp group! We do historical reenactment and LIVE steel combat w/ replica weapons... yes, from the Viking Age. A few of our members also do later period combat, as well.

  • @skallagrimm Some people will never understand that LARPing isn't the same as doing a live action role play of historical battles.

  • Actually @Dantefex13, quite a few people know... this is Living History presentations with live, steel combat thrown in to demonstrate weapons, armor, and tactics. Nothing about what we do is role playing, nor are we

  • ...doing historical battles per say. Those are better left to groups in Europe. Hard to do them right in a corn field.... I'm just sayin'

  • @y2jtakerfan4ever what axe, dumbass?

  • Really @clintdelicious? Did u even watch the video? Almost every attack was to my left, unshielded side. He does that for the reasons u mention and because we know it's effective... we've done this for nearly twenty years. I'm sure you were just explaining it for everyone else though, right?
