do you know how many different Christian groups there were right after the time of Jesus? And many of them didn't share the same beliefs that many modern day Christians hold, like the trinity. you don't have to take my word for it.
(search the origin of Trinity, or Christmas or the origin of Sunday worship, etc). Many talk about Jesus today as if they know him, when they don't even know who Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are.
Jesus doesn't tell lies, but some people lie about Jesus.

So how do you determine how to interpret the bible. Different sects have different doctrines according to their interpretations.
