The Community Baptist Church of Waterford California Missions Team -- http://www.cbcwaterfordmissions.com/ -- spent the week of June 28th through July 4th 2009 at Gleanings for the Hungry -- http://www.gleanings.org -- near Dinuba, CA. Our team of about 37 people participated with about 115 other volunteers to process donated peaches and nectarines into dried fruit and to mix and package dry soup servings from donated products. All products will be used to feed the hungry both physically and spiritually. Additionally, we were greatly blessed as we "worshiped" God our Maker through service (Ps 95:6,7).

Gleanings for the Hungry is a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an interdenominational Christian organization serving in over one hundred nations. Gleanings' mission is to help feed the hungry spiritually and physically.
We process nectarines and peaches sun drying them to preserve the fruit. In addition, we produce a very nutritious dried soup mix by blending vegetables, spices, a soy protein, and packaging it in quart or gallon bags. Other nutritious shelf stable food products are donated by many generous companies which allows us to provide for many more of "the least of these our brothers."
We partner with many Christian ministries to distribute the dried fruit, vegetable soup mix, raisins, power bars, baby food, beans, nutritious drinks, vitamins, and many other food products to the hungry of the world ---- meeting not only their physical needs, but their spiritual needs as well.
In the 2004 year we shipped over 4,400,000 lbs of food and have yearly continued to provide these large amounts.
The fruit is distributed by missionary organizations or Church groups to make sure it gets to the needy and there is opportunity to evangelize.
Amen! It makes me so proud of the Human Race to see what you have accomplished. Please continue, and know that we are cheering for your success!

Wow!! What a wonderful job you've done on the CBC/Gleanings video. In the 14 months we've been in the Philippines we've gone through approximately 55,000 servings of dehydrated soup. We've served the soup at several medical/dental missions; we sent 8000+ servings to Iloilo after Typhoon Frank; we served it to approximately 500 jail inmates; 80 servings a day are being provided to the poor children attending the Ikthus 18th Street School; and the list goes on and on.... Thank-you so much!!
