Pretty much. Many of the factions we've been fighting in the past 20 years have been the ones we were arming during the Cold War. And in a way, we're still repeating those foreign policy mistakes. What will Pakistan and the "allied" tribal leaders do with the arms and money we gave them once we leave the region? With how volatile and fractionated the area is, it seems like a recipe for disaster.
