Here is a video and audio test my parents and I created using the new Zoom Q3HD, the Flip Ultra HD and the Cannon 7D.

Canon 7D = £1,000 + accessories!

Flip Ultra = £150

Zoom Q3HD = £200

The Canon will always be the better picture with such an amazing lense. Be interesting to see the Zoom Q3HD actually using HD & extra mic gain. I think that would make peoples views different.

@funkb0x I saw that a few people commented on how good the Canon was. Thats a given. I just compared the Flip to the Zoom. Both were lighted improperly for a comparison. No camera will handle the light behind the subject ( Dancer) . Audio goes to Zoom. There was a spaciousness to the Zooms audio. The Flip was just in your face. What was the price of the Canon? Good video though.

I actually don't no the price of the cannon 7D but I would HIGHLY recommend the Cannon t2i.

The Cannon by far is better than the Flip and Zoom. But the Zoom has better sound quality than either of the other cameras.

Canon has a better image quality, but it's obvious.

If you want to compare audio you gotta put some nice headphones and use a very high volume, or get some nice monitors. Pc speakers are not a good reference, never! Using the right setup, you hear that audio of flip hd at a high volume is VERY bad, it makes your ears bleed. Canon audio is not that noisy, but it isn't a good audio at all. The q3hd instead is a world apart. High volume just means more emotions, not more noise! It's so nicee!!!

no fair cannon 7d has an automatic movie quality preset

An alternative is Kodak zoom zi8 with external mike. Better quality then the flip, and good audio quality with a good external mic.

Listening through Ultimate Ears earphones -- rather than through my computer's speakers -- the audio from the Zoom is excellent.

Very informative video, zoom has the best sound but flip ultra hd has better pic quality. Also great dancing, ur one hot momma! ;)

Why did every shot with the zoom have the glaring light on the upper left side, when every shot with the others didn't? Sorry but that that doesn't seem coincidental to me.
