Megélhetésből nyakkendőkészítőnek áll, majd dzsessz dobos, parketttáncos, bárénekes és minden, amiből élni lehet. Napi 10 pengőért elszegődik például az Angol-parkba énekelni. Ott, egy véletlen kapcsán felfedezik, és rövidesen slágerénekesként válik népszerüvé a harmincasévek második felére. Késöbb feltűnik egy-egy kabaréban, prózai darabokban és kuplék előadásaival, válik tovább ismertté. Hangja, a kor elvárásának ideális hang, megjelenése, eleganciája sikeres előadóvá teszi, s számtalan slágere kelendő a gramofonlemezpiacon
1938-ban leszerződik gramofon-énekesnek a Tonalit Gramophon Rt.-hez, amelynek rendszeres szerződött alkalmazottja marad, a háború után is, sőt még az államosítást követően is, habár, akkoriban már Tonalit Gramofon Nagyvállalat néven jegyzik az egykor részvénytársaságot.

Kazal, the phonograph star
In order to make a living, he becomes a tie-maker, then a jazz drummer, taxi-dancer, night club singer and everything that brings in income. For example, he sings for 10 pengos a day in the Budapest amusement park where he is discovered by chance, and soon becomes a popular recording artist by the second half of the '30s.
His occasional appearances in cabarets, stage plays, and performing of music-hall songs make him more reknowned.
His voice, ideal for the expectation of the era, his mannerism and his stylishness make him a successful entertainer, and his numerous hits are
in good demand. In 1938 he is contracted to Tonalit Gramophon Rt., a share company, where he remains employed through the years, even after WWII, and even after nationalization, although Tonalit is not owned by shareholders any more.
