i have a 2000 crwon vic and i want to do something cool to my car but i cant afford flowmasters at the moment but if a delet the 2 rear cats would sound awsome and loud ?
How long has it been now since you've put em on? Has it thrown codes yet or are you still in the clear. In my state we still have emissions testing and if I do this to my vic, and it throws codes, I'm fucked. I've gotta pay to have the cats put back on or I can't get my tag. =\
People tend to only delete the 2nd set of cats because it wont make a difference. Im sure you can tell the computer it's ok somehow, but I dont know how. Catalytic converters dont do anything but restrict your car. You DO need a muffler(muffler=backpressure, backpressure=necessary). You DONT need a cat, but it will give you a code if you take out all 4 cats.
How in the hell would it be $420 to lob off the cats and just get 2 Super 44's? You need to shop around because I couldn't spend that much on them if I tried.
Well, the super 44's with the correct offset for the 2004, are $89 a piece brand new, the muffler shop will charge $100 to put them on the car, and after that, the cats still need to go and they're gonna charge me $60 a piece to cut the cats out and replace them with 2.25" stainless pipe. Buuuuuut, if I do all that, they said they'd throw I'm some Marauder tips for free. LOL. Whoopey.
sounds good!! i have a question for you when they deleted the 2nd set of cats did you have to change anything in the computer cause i have a 99 p71 crown vic and it has all 4 cats but i would like to take the 2nd cats off.
