Didn't she just totally contradict herself there. She just said that she didn't think gay people were more vulnerable to addiction and then went on to say how when hiding and/or denying who we are we often end up trying to suppress difficult feelings with alcohol. Not sure about stats etc. but what I do know is that coming to terms with my sexuality and my own struggle with addiction were intrinsically linked. It's not an excuse its just a fact and all the more reason to get sober.
