A Bad Anti-Global Warming Argument

Couple things:
1. Nobody who seriously denies AGW makes their whole argument from anecdotal weather observations, in fact, I've seen that a lot more from the pro-AGW side.
2. It is not "basic sh*t" to imply that
a) seasons are getting more extreme, storms stronger etc.
b) a small rise in atmospheric CO2 content produced by man is to blame.
Both of those are arguable and require proving.
Christ, CRU can't even be trusted to accurately portray world temperature, I sure don't trust their models.

the top 2.5 meters of the oceans contains as much heat as the entire atmosphere. The oceans are getting cooler.
Many of the temperature measuring stations in Siberia were shut down after the Sovjet Union fell apart. That caused a lot of generally cold measurements to disappear from the database. The median temperature went up causing global warming

How does this argument explain that the whole globe is getting colder if it is getting warmer in your view? Bad logic. The long term tred is cold not warming.

take plastic manufacturing for example, manufacturers know that a large amount of their product will end up killing wildlife in the pacific gyre. but thats not a market force, it doesn't cost them anything, so why should they take it into consideration? The same with mountaintop removal mining, slash/burn agriculture and co2 emissions. The only way to change the way a company operates is to make it pay for the cost of the damage it does, and tho only way to do that is with regulation.

"global warming is a long term trend"
in business there is no such thing as long term profit. (any of you that work in sales or at a corporate office know EXACTLY what I mean)
if we allow market forces to determine the direction of our environmental impact, millions of people will have to start suffering before anything is done about the issue, and by then the damage will be nearly irreversible. corporations generally know about the impact of their actions before taking them. Another thing, no one is saying that the climate is not changing whether it's warming or cooling you ignorant ape. The whole point is about whether the man emitted CO2 is the cause.

Yeah i totally agree, even if you doubt the evidence, making clean energy is the right thing to do for our future.

Agreed. The global warming alarmists do this when it gets hot. I always knew how stupid it was during the the late 90s summer heat waves. It is equally stupid when the other side does it.

And in any case, state-imposed caps on industrialized nations wouldn't do any good in reducing greenhouse gases. It just means that fossil fuels would get cheaper in countries that didn't go along, and industrial activity would shift to those countries. The more countries that participated in such a suicide pact, the greater the benefits would be to anyone who chose to opt out (in terms of cheap energy).

Since the earth started warming before humans could really have a dramatic effect on CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere (and the trend has fluctuated since then, including a three-decade cooling trend from the 1940s to the 1970s), and since not even all carbon dioxide increase can be attributed to human activity (natural warming causes carbon dioxide to bubble out of the oceans), my own assessment is that human influence is small relative to natural causes.
sorry, but you are an idiot. The Earth hasn't been warming for the past decade, even the alarmists agree with that.

Oh, look! It's another person who clearly didn't listen to all the video, and if you did, which I wouldn't admit if I were you, you clearly didn't understand the logical argument I was making. Try again.
