I thought you couldn't join the army if you where ftm because its considered a genitalia defect?
and couldn't have piercings?

in canada if you transition while youre already in, even reserves, your job is protected and new unifrom and ID are issued fairly quickly. if you're in the regular force (full time) and you transition, the military pays for it in full. joining after transition is tougher, you have to get a psych assessment from an army doctor and have all your information changed over and 'pass'. piercings are not a problem, as long as they are removed when you're on duty.
