Blue Bus Services of Rugeley put on special bus services on Bank Holiday Monday 28 May 1984 to the annual Lichfield Bower. Here, at Sankeys Corner is Albion Viking MWG486F.

Midland Red North didn't approve of this additional travel facility so they put on free buses in the form of MAN articulated (bendibuses) to help financially destabilise Blue Bus Services.

  • My local bus company used to have a fleet of 94 Vikings.I travelled on them almost daily from the 1960s through to the early 80s.I would give my right arm to sit on the back seat and hear that roar one more time.
