Sifu Zhang Shuhua was born in 1936. He started his wushu life while still very young. In the beginning he learnt Xingyi Quan from Sifu Qian Shujiao. Who was a student of Sifu Zhang Zhankui, better known as Lightning Hand in the late Qing dynasty. Sifu Zhang was neighbor to Sifu Qian, this made his kongfu training very convenient. Sifu Zhang soon became his best disciple. Sifu Qian had 4 disciples who he loved very much. People called them Sanzhang yili, meaning Three Zhangs and One Li. ( 3 of Sifu Qians disciples family names are Zhang, and one of them is Li.)

Regretting sifu Qians passing in 1971, Sifu Zhang was very sad. He decided to embark on a wushu quest to seek teachers and friends, and improve his technique. He went first to Ji Nan and became Sifu Wan Dianwens disciple. Later he was introduced to Guangzhou, training there for years. He learned mostly Chinese wrestling in Guanzghou from sifu Zhang Dengkui. He soon became Sifu Zhang Dengkuis best disciple, and was then introduced to sifu Chang Dongbo in Baoding, Hebei Province, and Sifu Shen Shaosan in Kaifeng, Henan Province. Sifu Zhang Shuhua learnt his Taiji and Wudang in Beijing from Sifu Li Tianji. In the 80s he learnt Bagua from Sifu Wang Wenkui In Beijing. He then he finally got the essence of Bagua in Qingdao, Shan Dong province. There, he swore he would spread his knowledge, collected from so many grandmasters, to people.

Sifu Zhang then carried out his promise. He is dedicated to spreading all of his learning to wushu lovers. He went back to his hometown Xuzhou, and started his popularizing Wushu. Many of his disciples have become new masters. Since he is not withholding of Wushu, this art will not loose its essence.

his life is simple. He never seeks fame, and wealth. He has contributed all his life to spreading Wushu. This spirit is encouraging to all Wushu practitioners.
