Rumor is Butch Coolidge keyed it after their run-in at the bar.

I have two objections to this theory.

    1. Butch is not the type that keys cars.

    2. Vincent talk like he has no clue who did it, but if Butch did it outside the club, Vincent must have had a very strong suspicion toward Butch, and would not have rested before having it out with him.

    And a third:

    3. Butch has been carefully setting up the scam of a lifetime at Marcellus' expense. Would he risk upsetting it all for the sake of keying some jerk's car? Don't think so.

Quentin Tarantino has said himself that Butch is responsible for keying Vincent's car.

This scene is the essence of Pulp Fiction. Laws and morals/ethics are not the same. Yeah, dealing with drugs for money is against the law, whatever, that's one thing. But keying another man's vehichle... maaaaan, that is another. Much worse in a moral way, if you really think about it. YOU JUST DON'T DO IT.

I once left a note on a ghetto'd (REALLY fucking ghetto, distasteful mods) out hummer illegally parked in a handicap spot. "I didn't know being a douche was a handicap"
