Alchemy is a very old craft, can such a modern Wicca accurately understand such and age old craft?

@DreamsThatDontExist It is certainly true that Alchemy is very old, but that doesn't mean that it is something the modern mind cannot understand. The idea that earlier peoples were too different or too primitive in their ideas to be understood by the contemporary mind, while not an uncommon presumption, is not one that I can agree with. I do realize that the majority of people dismiss alchemical thought out of hand based on this premise, but in that I think they make a mistake.

Get over yourself and just enjoy the show. FMA rules, but clearly it's not meant to be an accurate portrayal of alchemy. If you watched the show you would know why he could just clap his hands and not use a gram anyway. Besides, unless you're all jonesing for obscurity, FMA will interest a lot of people to look at real alchemy. Well, I'm off to take my State Alchemy exam. Wish me luck.

i been to egypt the soil is red. khem = black is the people. since they themselves coming from nubia/ kush. the greek did not give egypt jack. read the literature ofm the greek they say they get all they stuff from egypt. and if you study so called primative culture it is all achemy

as for gold!! it is clearly said in many texts if your have ever read any. their gold is a philosophical gold, not mundane gold. this MEANS their substance is not gold but is considerd golden. not too mention what they call gold is not always the final product but is the first universal substance. ie the substance you start with. azoth
