Roughly I would say yes it is. The main difference is the title in German "ganz allein" which means "all alone" in English.

No matter what language, Brian's magic still shines through !! This song was really the first of Brian's CLASSIC all-time songs that mightily grabbed the attention of his music industry peers as a "Sit-Up-and-Take-Notice-of-Thi­s-Guy" new artist of genuine god-given, special talent. I'm sure that even by this early stage, some were saying "this guy has the potential of an authentic musical genius". And sure enough ... they were right !!

In Brian's "Classic" (as you refer to this), there would be an outstanding "Classic" preceeding "In My Room" That would be "The Lonely Sea" from "The Surfin' U.S.A." album...IMHO!
