A short documentary about a Family and their baby, Grace Blessing Deal, who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth.

A Message from Stephen Deal:

"I am saddened by the comments in response to this documentary of our family, not because some people disagree with what we have said or how we felt at the time. Everyone faces things differently because of past experiences or personality. In response to those who disagree with us I say thank you for your feed back. I can see where you are coming from and watching the video again today with you comments in mind I can see how it would leave all of these impressions. Many things that are broadcast or published are not intended as the best possible solution or most ethical means of reaching the desired goals in life. Such is the case with this documentary. It is intended to be an honest expression of the feelings and emotions that over took us at the moment. Since our daughters birth our perception of all that she is capable of and how big our dreams can be for her grow and change daily. This is true for any child facing any challenge. It is not my desire to squash any discussion or disagreement this documentary may raise.

What truly saddens me by the comments I have read is the felt need to attack others who may feel, think, or see the circumstances differently than ourself. I know that I am still learning what privileges I get to enjoy as the father of this special child. My hope for this video was to encourage people in similar circumstances to embrace their feelings and emotions because only by acknowledging them can we truly understand what is real and what is unwarranted fear. Without this revelation we remain trapped by our fear of what will never exist and fail to realize the joys and blessings just at our fingertips.

Thank you!"

  • oh my god, what a cutie. god bless this family.

  • for you 9 people who disliked this you have no heart... what if you were in this families position?

  • i participated in this pseciaL oLympics heLd at schooL once where we watch over some of them and I was amazed at how great and bright and amazing they couLd be. They're not actuaLLy different than the ones without down syndrome. they're just amazing!!!

  • My cousin has Down Syndrome but he's very high functioning, he even took some college courses at a 2 yr school and plays piano like a pro. Down Syndrome children range from avg intelligence to severe mental retardation.

  • What an adorable little girl. Its very special having a Down Syndrome kid. But it can be depressing at first.

  • Look at this family its a special moment... Thats what I have Down Syndrome ?

  • @gordieg74 In my opinion a parents would suffer a lot the same to see the problems of his child and the way many people are rude to him/her

  • its crushing at first. but soon after it becomes just another challenge in life, and you will protect the child with your life just like any other.

  • @girlmusician24 I think that everyone is free to say what he/she thinks. Not everybody agrees with the same things.

Then in my opinion, Grace is cute for sure: but having a child with downs and accept it it's not easy at all.

I don't know what I would do if it happended to me.

  • Cute. The nine people who don't like this video need a serious reality check.
