  • It's strange after all these years, same old things just bigger numbers. I find this very sad . Our elected officials have done nothing to change this course. Be they Democrat or Republican firstly they are polititions ! :( all the same !!!!!

  • @JimmyzToo ..Please don't confuse the liberals on the list with facts...I'm afraid for what harm they may do to themselves and others....

  • @dafinchman ..And a liberal will always, always advise raising taxes. As the old slogan goes, a lib never met a tax he didn't hike. And yes, you can still cut taxes and go to war...though I know that confounds your limited economic mind...

  • Bingo! Democrats. AND, under Ronald Reagan tax receipts doubled. On his last day in office, revenue to the treasury was double what it was when Reagan took office

That's right kids, revenue to the treasury INCREASED, but the Dems in Congress SPENT THE MONEY faster than it came in.

  • STILL talking about budgets with Obama at the helm, you're on thin ice my friend. Talk about an "epic fail". Obama has been in Office six months and he has the worst fiscal record since the Revolutionary War.

  • Epic fail? Really? Using internet speak when debating politics?

Anyway, the Republicans had the majority of the Congress meaning they had the ability to override any veto Clinton may have made (Take a look at how many vetoes he actually made by the way.)

Again, you lack a basic understanding of how our government even works by clearly not knowing that important little foil to your entire argument. So as you would say "Epic Fail."

  • That's not what I said -- read it again. The Republicans DID take control in 94, and more or less held it throughout the 90s and into the 2000s. In the 90s, many of their initiatives were vetoed by Clinton. With the election of George W. Bush, they no longer had the threat of veto power. (hence "overcame Clinton's veto power). They then started passing what they had dreamed of passing under Clinton but couldn't. The rest is history. Epic fail.

  • The Republicans took control of the Congress in 1994 not 2000. You don't even have a basic fact correct and you want to lecture us on budgets? Please...

  • Right, and that's why when they finally overcame Clinton's veto power in 2000 budgets continued to be balanced. Oh wait.. nope, they were finally allowed to do what they had wanted to do in the 90s but were prevented from doing so by Clinton's veto. No fiscal conservative could argue that cutting taxes while going to war is permissable.

    It's not that you're ignorant, it's that you're a blind fundamentalist.

  • dafinchman- have you met President Obama? He has not only racked up a record Federal deficit, he has borrowed more in 6 months than every previous President since George Washington.
