This is a master class in the value of empty space during a solo on any instrument. This is what struck me as I first discovered TBirds music. Jimmie is the master of this and it is one of the things that made he and Stevie's style different.

@STILLAVRIL1 What a coincidence! Must have been around this time that I too 'caught the bug'! Marquee Club, Wardour Stm around '89-ish? Think I'd heard them on the Nicky Horne Radio Show.
Think that was it for me really, been a fan ever since.
Me and the ol man have met Kim a few times since: what a truly nice bloke, very gracious. And so bloody hot these days ha, ha, ha, ha!!!

JLV is the most underrated player on the planet. He can play anyone under the table, but never shows off at the expense of the song...has taken me close to 30 years to learn that lesson.
