PART2;
but i rolled it over my teeth and it made the clacking sound so it was obviously a stone i thought it was quarts that was rolled smoth... but having seen your vids im not sure that it wasnt
a sappire or a diamond.... im hooked on your vids now haha
they are great thank you so much

hey im very intrested in your vids.... especially the gem vids... i love hikeing and camping and on a recent trip back home to Zimbabwe we were hiking way out in the mountains and i love gold paning and any prospecting... they had a lot of trouble with illegal prospecting in the mountians as the found alluvial gold.
i went swimming and dived to the bottem of the river and picked up a handfull of gravel sorted through the lot and came up with a small round stone that i thought was plastic........

Best textbook to get the whole 'caboodle' is : 'Ore Deposits of the Western States - Lindgren Volume' (First Edition, The American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, New York, 1933). This book has lists of all reports relating to most of the mineralogical commodities in the area. And the older reports listed are both highly definitive and of practical value in the field.

Yerah!I am a geologist ! Wire me !
No, there are suspected areas in the Green River drainage and N of Laramie along Sybill(?) Creek. You will need to put kimberlite and Wyoming to find info (N. Colorado has diamonds too). Good luck!

When I lived in ID/WY I found some very interested stones I ended up taking to a man who had a phD in geology... He stared at the stones in a bowl, rolled them around for about 10 minutes, and said, "these have the luster, these have the crystal structure, I think these might be... (and then he realized what he was saying... he didn't believe there were diamonds in the region previously...) I'll have to do some more testing..."
Never got a verdict from him... 2 years later, still got 'em...

You might want to look at some of the materials of Dan Hausel and compare what you have to them (or take them to him at the University (WY) in Laramie. Do a search for "diamonds" "Wyoming" "Hausel" and you should come up with some pics to go by. Good luck.
