Godin started building Robert Godin's guitars in 1982 in La Patrie, Quebec.

Seagull is known for manufacturing solid wood entry- to mid-range acoustic guitars. Guitars under the Godin brand are primarily mid-range to top-of the-line electrics that are made of high quality wood from the northeastern part of North America. They have many models that feature synth pickups and some with piezo pickup-equipped bridges. Godin are notable for their use of synthesizer pickups as a standard feature in their high end models, and many of their electric models use piezo-acoustic pickups integrated with the bridge assembly. Aside from their technical innovations, Godin has a strong reputation among guitarists for their product quality. Most Godin guitars have the same distinctive, yet traditional, body shape, which has been described as a hybrid of the Gibson Les Paul and Fender Telecaster bodies.

Godin's guitars have won several awards, including Guitar Player Magazine's Editors Pick for the LG, Exit 22, and Freeway Classic.

Notable Godin players include John McLaughlin, Daryl Stuermer, Steve Stevens, Habib Koité, Rumesh De Mel, Hiran and Vinnie Moore. They are also very common among session players and sidemen. Robert Godin was also mentor to Master luthier Mauro Liberatore

I like techno-rock music. I don't like tremolo arm/handle on your guitar(at the intro of the vid I saw one). How do fifths and similar bass chords sound on this guitar?

tremolo arm can be detached and it doesn't effect the tuning at all.

There are plenty of high gain players who use Godin...so think twice. Don't get put off by the shape like I was, the sound is what matters.

I am wondering if your semi hollow models have a 3-inch thick body and its no larger than a tele body? I play religous hymns at homes where its better to play without the amp. I have been kicking around of adding a hipshot b bender and again... and I do not know if there is a center wood block to support the kit. Thanks....ed

I've never understood what the significant of the letter and numbers of each guitar (D710 for example) does it have to do with the shape and length or do they just want to confuse me. please someone answer back.

in my country this guitar price so expansive that cost RM6980.00...this g20 is cost rm2400...huhuhuhuhu wtf....my salary per months is rm1250

I once sold a Godin to "trade up" to a Gibson. Biggest mistake of my guitar life. I ending up selling the Gibson and buying another Godin - an LGXT. Hands down the most comfortable neck on a guitar I have ever owned and it literally does it all.
