Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 - 1809): Sonata in G Major. Hob. XVI:27, III: Finale.

This is a home work that is long over due. I thought I'd never want to come back and record it. With quite a bit effort I finally taped it -- not to my best satisfaction though. I still recall how excited I was when I started learning it ... even a piece like this can sound so boring when the practice lasted too long, like a meal that is badly over cooked. I decide to leave it like it is now and move on to other pieces.

  • you're really really good at this. i've been playing this piece since august, and my piano teacher says im really behind, and my playing is really bad.

  • some people don't like this one as much, after sometime's practice I sort of lost interest as well. Thanks for prasing, I wish your teacher could sound more encouraging.

  • what speed is your metronome going at??

  • I don't remember ...I think it was as indicated in the sheet. You can test it with your metronome.

  • I'm a great fan of Haydn's music, and you play it it really well! Don't forget, Haydn liked it to lead the listener at the nose and pulls his leg sometimes :-) This piece should sound a bit like music to a film by Charlie Chaplin :-)

  • Thank you very much, kpunkt! this is really really helpful! I'll first try to introduce him some film by Chaplin. I'm sure I can find some good clips right on youtube! :)
