I think people around vesalius's time should have been more accepting to new views about anatomy

Yes, i agree, because Galen, at that time, could not do the experimental surgery in human due to prohibition.
Vesalius, later on, could do the dissection in human body.
Galen introduced the idea "doctor should also be philosopher"

Nice job! The user who said that Galen failed,should keep in mind that Andreas Vesalius was born more than 1000 years after Galen! So it's not fair to compare them. Galen was great too, at the age he lived.
Moreover, keep in mind that Vesalius made mistakes too at human anatomy.
So, all in all, they are both great physicians and anatomists and we should keep them in our minds :)
