  • Awards are as much about politics as anything else. A lot of people who get awards laugh because they say "right, like we're better than so-and-so" (who might not even have been nominated). This has happened untold times over the years. The best of the best often go unrecognized by the masses. At the end of the day it doesn't matter--only the music matters. And musically, the Dregs were simply the best.

  • They hardly seem to raise a sweat doin' it do they? For me it's just ball-tearing. I can see though, where the general public would have trouble liking it. I played Unsung Heroes for a mate once and all he could comment on was the fact that they were half-naked on the cover.....he likes his music safe and easy like Billy Joel and Mr Springsteen. The kinda' stuff I can't handle.

  • One of THE greatest Southern Jazz/Rock bands ever to exist.

  • peprechauan lemonade! love it!

  • The level of musicianship here is breathtaking. I can't get over how amazing the mix and the recording is. It's rare to here a live recording from this era to have such clarity and punch. Thanks for the posting this, cheers!!

  • @pianocheswe

Thanks, important info for real musicologists in the future!

    One can only hope, yes?

  • WOWZA...Ze Dregs...one of the best Ever!!

Any band band that could play/pull off the complexities of their songs live is just umm; Divine.

  • I bet you a million those three dislikes do not play instruments.

  • T Lavitz died 10/7/10.. Great keyboard player. As far as I know, Dr. Sloan is still alive and well. Being from around Augusta, I was priviledged to see Dixie Grit/Dixie Dregs many dozens of times.

  • My bad I thought Allen Sloan passed away, sorry.
