Some Edge-owners have some problems with a blocking vistaroof of their Ford Edge. Instead of completely close the roof stays open some inches. It is the result of an decalibrating failure of the roof steering. This video and 2 further parts show how to fix that problem to recalibrate the roof steering.
That video only make sense when you look all parts in right order.

  • I have one ford edge 2009, and really is more easy do this: Clean the rails before with liquid silycon and brush, start up the car, press de close button 10 sec. and release it when the roof window get closed, and press close button again (don't press open) until both shadow and window goes backward and forward completely . This procedure let you recalibrate the vista roof.

  • @alvmorlos

  • Thanks a million man!! Worked like a charm. I brought the Edge to the Ford dealer and they say i needed a new motor for $1500. Another dealer mechanic wanted to cut the track to make it slide better. I find it amazing how poorly trained ford mechanics are on their own vehicles. how can they not know how to fix this problem? Apparently it happens all the time. Thanks again for posting.

  • thank you for the vid. i almost started to lose hope :P

  • @tk339 that is what they are quoting us too. the dealership said it was a motor problem and he had to buy a new one. after doing a lot of research. we will surely try to solve it ourselves :)

  • The Vistaroof on my son's Edge stuck in the open position. He took it to the Ford dealership...they quoted him $1,500 to repair it. He's very handy and mechanically inkleined. He watched your video a couple of times, took the headliner off, and repaired the problem...at NO COST.

Thank you very much for posting this. Look at the great favor you did for someone so far away!
