stevan harper said " the burdan of this is properly ours as a government and as a counrty there is no place in canada for the attidudes that inspired the indian residential school system to ever prevail again in canada" it is important that you watch the actual appology. another thing to research would be the post residential school stress syndrom expeiranced by native people. i greive for the youth still stuggling to live in this country as equals, as there rights as children were breached

OMFG WHAT DO YOU NATIVES WANT WE ARNT GOING TO ALL MOVE IF WE ARNT NATIVE
-
Again, no I do not know everything about Canada but I do know this right here: "Alcohol and drugs are as much a part of many natives lives as their heritage"
"indians ALL need casinos on reserves. Not malls or restaurents or grocery stores, A CASINO." is definitely NOT helping the situation at all ihatechocolatepeople. This is just wrong & is indeed stereotyping them. Don't you see that? Have a heart, please.

He has traditional long hair, applied for a job but couldn't have the job just because of his hair. What kind of shit is that!? No matter what they accomplish it's almost never good enough for our people. How would you feel & react if someone turned you down for simply being who you are & because of your racial background?
-
yet this too is almost never brought up. Why? That's not true, many do but FAR TOO MANY get turned down simply for being native. Natives are one of the most (if not the very most) racial groups out there who get discriminated against the most. I'm going to make this story as short as possible. I have this native friend who went & finished college, he's a damn intelligent guy who has his life together & everything! He does not drink, do drugs or party & he's a family man.
-
Would you not blame the perpetrators of whom continuously do you wrong? If you say no, then you are clearly lying to yourself. Let me just say this, I rarely ever see natives drinking despite always being around them yet see white people doing it all the time. No one ever seems to mention that. Also, I've never in my life seen a native begging for money yet see white people doing it all the time (far too many of them to count actually) & only once a African-American man,

& that applies to everyone who is not native, not just you. I know I'll never understand how bad they have it & all the SHIT they have to endure, I know that for a fact, that's why I happen to care so much..because it's not right. We're sheltered & privileged although we do NOT deserve it. That, I cannot just accept without speaking out against it. Again, what would happen if we had to endure what they have? In all honesty, would you take all the crap & not complain?
@ihatechocolatepeople
pt. 8 "not repeat history"." Wow. You're one to talk. Continuous land & resource thefts committed by European-Americans qualifies as willing to "learn" and "not repeat history"?? Does this seriously make sense in your head!? Sadly, even after everything not much has changed, you are proof of that.

@ihatechocolatepeople
pt. 7 they get a job when people like you are still discriminating against them? Do you have any idea how much racial discrimination they face for simply TRYING to get a job, & in most cases get turned down just simply for being Native American!? "And if your race is "perfect", why is it that your race has continued in a downward direction economically, socially, and in culture over the past 20 years. Explain where that means you race is willing to "learn" and
