Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez ended in stunning fashion when Pacquiao was knocked out by Marquez in the sixth round of their World Boxing Organization world welterweight fight on Sunday in Las Vegas.

News of Pacquiao's knockout was greeted with shock and disbelief by his fellow Filipinos, many of whom are wondering if Pacquiao's apparent conversion from Catholicism to Evangelical Christianity has anything to do with his recent lack of success.

Before being KO'd by Marquez, Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight title to Timothy Bradley on June 9. Pacquiao has not publicly said whether he has left the Catholic church, but he no longer wears a rosary or makes the sign of the cross before fights.

Pacquiao's defeat is more likely due to the fact that he's now an elected politician in the Philippines and only trained two months for the fight, compared to four for Marquez.

This was the fourth fight between Marquez and Pacquiao. Prior to the fight, Marquez's record against Pacquiao was 0-2-1.
