Motorola Xoom Wifi Review (Redux)

My own Motorola Xoom Wifi review. Purchased March 25, 2011, 2 days before release date. This is a new unit because the first one was rendered useless after trying to root. The current root method is available only for the Verizon Xoom. I'll post a link here when the Wifi Xoom root method is available.

Is this the mz604 version? I'm thinking to buy it but wondering will it be able to update to ice cream sandwich when the android update comes out?

@sampman2011 Correct, MZ604 model. Motorola has said that the Xoom will be receiving the ICS update and given that this is the Wifi only model, the update will come quicker than for those from a carrier.

can the zoom also be used as wireless phone as well?

hi, i hear a lot of guys complaining about the weight of xoom. does it really feel like holding a brick in hands?

@slafkec It is a little weighty and if you're holding it in your hands for quite a while, it can start to feel heavy. It's only 1.6 pounds but there are other tablets that are lighter.

@neeseyxox I'm not exactly sure of your question. Android 3.X is Honeycomb. The Xoom has been updated to Android 3.2 (free updates). There shouldn't be a price difference with Xoom's unless you get one on contract from a cell carrier with a service plan

@monkfan72 That's less likely to be a software or hardware problem of the Xoom as it is a network connection issue.

My roommate got the Xoom a couple of weeks ago, and was unable to connect to her wi-fi. :(
